3月23日，国家汉办第二批汉语国际推广基地评审会在武汉召开。武汉大学、南开大学、中山大学、东北师范大学、演变大学、海南师范大学、大连外国语学院7所基地申报单位的负责人及相关人员48人参加会议。

7所高校申请建设的基地各具特色：南开大学申请建设跨文化交流研究与培训基地；武汉大学申请建设汉语国际推广教学资源研究与开发基地；中山大学申请建设国际汉语教材研发与培训基地；东北师范大学申请建设东北亚汉语教师培训基地；延边大学申请建设汉语国际推广延边基地；大连外国语学院申请建设汉语国际推广多语种大连基地。

会上，评审专家对各单位的可行性论证报告进行了评审，并提出修改建议，各申报单位将根据专家建议调整方案。

汉语国际推广基地的主要任务是：研究孔子学院建设和汉语国际推广可持续发展战略，在理论和实践两方面实现教材与教学法的改革和创新，提升汉语言文化研究与传播的能力。中国人民大学汉语国际推广研究所等首批10所基地已于2008年9月建立。（许亮）

Meeting Held inWuhanto Appraise New International Chinese Promotion Sites

A meeting to appraise the second group of bases for the international promotion of Chinese language was held on March23 inWuhan, capital of centralChina’sHubeiProvince. It was attended by 48 representatives from the seven universities concerned, which areWuhanUniversity,NankaiUniversity,SunYatsenUniversity,NortheastNormalUniversity,YanbianUniversity,HainanNormalUniversityand the Dalian Institute of Foreign Languages.

Of the seven applicants, Nankai University applied for a study and training base for cross-culture exchange; Wuhan University applied for the base for teaching resources study and development for the international promotion of Chinese language; Sun Yat-sen University applied for the building of a research and development base for international Chinese teaching materials; Northeast Normal University applied for a base to train Chinese language teachers in northeastern Asia; Hainan Normal University applied for a base to train Chinese language teachers in southeastern Asia; Yanbian University applied for the building of an international promotion base for Chinese language in Yanbian; and the Dalian Institute of Foreign Languages applied for a base for multilingual international promotion of Chinese in Dalian.

Experts evaluated the universities’ feasibility study reports and offered suggestions for adjusting their plans.

Major tasks of the international Chinese promotion bases are as follow: Study the construction of Confucius Institutes and the strategy for the sustainable development of international Chinese language promotion; work at innovating teaching material and teaching-methodology and practice; and strengthen the study and spread of Chinese language.

The first group of 10 international Chinese promotion bases, including the Institute for the International Promotion of the Chinese Language in the People’s University of China, were set up in September last year.
